Precision Sports Statistics runs Individuals leagues both on the Internet and by Mail/FAX.
Precision Sports Statistics does not award any prizes to the winners of these leagues, they are
for the enjoyment of the competition only. If you are looking for a service that promises big prizes
to the winners, go somewhere else. But if you are looking for a VERY competitive league
to see how well your fantasy skills stack up against other fans....Then you have come to the right place.
Precision Sports Statistics Inc. provides two different types of Stat League Baseball services, one for Commissioner Leagues and one for Individual Leagues.
Most of our customers form leagues with their co-workers and friends. They choose their own league commissioner and setup their own rules.
Their league commissioner runs their draft at the start of the season, collects each team's weekly transactions during the season (and sends them to Precision Sports Statistics),
and is the final voice on any league rule interpretations that arise. Precision Sports Statistics provides the weekly statistical reports for Commissioner Leagues,
but is not involved in running them in any way.
However, some customers sign up as individuals. Precision Sports Statistics organizes these individual customers into 8 to 10 team leagues, called Individual Leagues.
In an Individual League, Precision Sports Statistics acts as the commissioner by defining the league rules, running the draft, collecting the weekly transactions, and arbitrating any rule questions.
- The League: Each league is formed by the combination of 8 to 10 individual teams.
- Eligible Players: All Major League Players are eligible. This is a Mixed league (AL & NL).
- Scoring Categories: 10 scoring categories are used in a standard Rotisserie-style scoring system. They are Batting: Batting Average, Home Runs, Runs Batted In, Stolen Bases, and Runs Scored, Pitching: Wins, Saves, Earned Run Average, Pitching Ratio, and Strikeouts.
- The Draft (Internet Leagues): Internet Leagues will use our real-time draft webpage for a live draft. Drafts will be held on the following dates:
Sunday March 20 (afternoon & evening), Wednesday March 23 (evening), Friday March 25 (evening), Saturday March 26 (morning & afternoon), Sunday March 27 (afternoon & evening), Monday March 28 (evening), and Tuesday March 29 (afternoon).
Each owner will have to login to our website for approximately 3 hours to complete the draft. Our draft information webpage will be available shortly.
- The Draft (Mail and FAX leagues): Mail and FAX leagues will complete the three-part computerized draft form included in the draft package.
- Roster Size: Each team will have a 32-man roster. Of these 32 players, each week 23 will be active (their stats are accumulated toward your team's total); and 9 players will be reserved (their stats do not count).
- Line-Up: Each week your Active line-up will consist of: 2 catchers, 2 first basemen, 2 second basemen, 2 third basemen, 2 shortstops, 5 outfielders, and 8 pitchers. Each major league player is eligible to play only one position, the position that he played most in the majors last year (2004). Minor leaguers, and major league players who played exactly the same number of games at two or more positions will be assigned one eligible position by Precision Sports Statistics in the draft package.
- Transactions: Each week during the 26-week baseball season you will be able to make changes to your team's active and reserve roster. You can also make trades with any other team in your league up to the trading deadline (the start of week 20). There are no transaction charges.
- Supplemental Drafts: Each week, starting with week 3 of the season, each team can draft one free agent from the free agent pool (players that are not on any other teams rosters). The draft order is the last place team to the first place team. When a player is drafted, a player must be waived in order to keep the team's roster at or under the 32-man limit. The Sports Voice automated system is used for these drafts.
- The Price: There are three different Individual League services that are differentiated by how the weekly reports are delivered. The price for owners who receive their weekly reports by our Sports Voice webpage is $40 for the season. The price for owners who receive hardcopies of their weekly reports is $75 for mail service or $90 for FAX service. There are no additional costs for the entire 2005 baseball season. Precision Sports Statistics does not award any prizes.
- To Sign Up: Here is the Order Form. All Internet Only individual teams are paid for in full before the beginning of the season. To sign up, send a check or money order for $40 to:
